World Missions
Acts 1:8 - "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
When most Bible scholars interpret this verse, it is taken to mean that the Church is to be witnesses in their home locality (Jerusalem), in the surrounding area or state (Judaea), in their nation (Samaria), and the whole world (uttermost parts). This is largely achievable except for the whole world part. This is why churches support foreign missionaries who are committed to witnessing in other lands or special projects here at home. McCook Baptist Church currently supports seven missionaries.
